Services

We work mainly for public administration: regions, cities and their planning institutes. Most results are delivered as a report, data and a web map at the same time.

Land potential

We show which places in a city are best suited for new development. Most often we assess housing and local shops and services; depending on the brief also other uses, such as recreation or production. The result is a potential map on a scale of 0 to 10 and a category for every development site based on its potential, constraints and capacity.

Land potential is often one part of a wider development priorities study:

  1. analysis of the current situation,
  2. land potential analysis,
  3. economic assessment of sites (construction costs, impact on the city budget),
  4. recommendations on where and how to build,
  5. web maps for the city office and the public.

For metropolitan areas we assess whole groups of municipalities and add statistical comparison and a typology of municipalities.

Spatial planning analysis

Czech municipalities and regions keep spatial planning analytical materials (ÚAP), a body of data and analyses that is regularly updated. We prepare full ÚAP updates for districts and regions, including the analysis of sustainable territorial development (RURÚ), indicators and municipal profiles, maps of values, constraints and planned changes, symbology and ÚAP data models. We convert land-use plans from drawings into the ÚAP data model and build tools that export planning data for architects.

For the Znojmo district update we surveyed municipalities and residents through a map-based questionnaire, together with PocitoveMapy.cz.

Accessibility

We calculate travel times to public infrastructure on foot, by bike, by public transport and by car: schools, doctors, offices, shops, sports facilities. We follow the Czech Public Infrastructure Accessibility Standards (Maier, 2016), delineate catchment areas and show where services are missing relative to population. We locate facilities from official registers and check them against aerial imagery; public transport is calculated from timetables.

Web maps and dashboards

We turn analysis results into apps in ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise: story maps for the public, dashboards and municipal profiles for officials, apps for collecting feedback. We built the Moravian-Silesian Region's data portal on ArcGIS Hub, and we migrate older Web AppBuilder apps to current templates.

Atlases and maps

We design and lay out thematic atlases, maps and planning drawings for print and web. The Atlas of the Moravian-Silesian Region, made with the Department of Geoinformatics at Palacký University, has 111 maps and 93 charts and won Czech Map of the Year 2021.

Indicators for strategic planning

We compile indicator sets from open data of the Czech Statistical Office, ministries and cities, and combine them into composite indices for locations or municipalities. They support strategic plans, economic marketing and the choice of investment priorities.

Training

We train public officials in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online and QGIS, either following a prepared syllabus or working on their own data and tasks.
