Development Priorities for Jihlava
624 infill sites, urban design proposals, access to services and the 50-year budget impact of new development.

In the first stage we mapped 624 infill sites. An urban planner checked them in the field and found half of them suitable for building, so the city can grow inward instead of onto open land. In the second stage we proposed a building type for the infill and development sites and estimated their capacity (houses, storeys, flats, residents). For selected sites we prepared urban design proposals with architects.
An analysis of access to schools, shops, sports facilities and other services, combined with population density, showed where infrastructure is missing. The economic part estimated site costs and the impact on the city budget over 50 years. The main conclusion: focus on high-capacity infill sites within reach of existing utilities. The potential and economics were updated in 2023.
